Very unhappy customer

This is how they delivered the refrigerator to us. I have been lied to from the start from you guys.

Seth delivered it back to us and said they never ever worked on it until the other day and only plugged it up to see if it got cold.

I will never do business with you guys again. I have pictures of the refrigerator on how dirty it is and the mold on the inside of it and the bottom door is broke.

Let me start by saying I have made plenty of purchases from this location in the past and had no issues! I ordered a couch and love seat THOUGHT I was catching a great deal was sold on this couch by them saying had I not bought it that day the price would have been more the next day due to a miss price online.

I waited 4 days to get the furniture and was told it would be cleaned before I received it bc it was used. Got it to my house and it was visible that it WAS NOT cleaned AND by the next day I was eaten up with bites that appear to be from bed bugs! I was not going to post a review due to the fact I ASSUMED they got rid of the furniture so no one else would be infected by bed bugs BUT I was mistaken! This furniture is now posted online for $250 cheaper than what it was when I was purchasing it!

This furniture came from the Portsmouth location and the way I was carried by mgmt and upper mgmt like this was something I did was outrageous! Was offered a loaner that looked older than the couch they brought!

But was lied to and told that the person that had it before only had it for 2 weeks. Mgmt took NO ownership on this matter and made it seem like it was not a big deal and tbh them selling it again shows they do not care about their customers or their families!

Regional Manager james from the tulsa area

We were contacted roughly 7 times via phone calls as soon as they opened they were calling. James wrote a rude message in Spanish to my wife and when I confronted him on it, he threatened me with the police.

He text me several messages speaking rudely and even called me a thief. Needless to say James didn't show up to do a damn thing.

Rosenberg, TX location! Do not rent to own from Buddy's!

This place is a disgrace to the rent-to-own community! Mr. Prentice and his sidekicks are so unprofessional and disrespectful! They will harass you on the day your payment is due (not even past due!), threaten you, and show up at your house.

They try to change the amount that is due every payment and become very rude when you bring up the fact that you still have your original paper agreement and know what your payment amount truly is! I just went through Hurricane Beryl and lost my son's PS5 due to the natural disaster, and even though I always made my payments on time and paid the extra insurance and even paid their pointless membership fee, I was denied a replacement and they still demand me to pay on the system that was lost in the disaster! I called and left multiple messages to resolve this issue and they just hang up on me and send threatening emails to involve law enforcement if the system is not returned!

My advice to everyone would be to avoid dealing with these people altogether. Save yourself the drama, harassment, and hassle!

Broken items/ bad customer service

My furniture pieces arrived broken a year ago. I have asked them to replace the items more than multiple times, yet they never have.

It's been a whole year, and yet, when I'm late on a payment, they keep harassing me saying they're going to pick up the furniture.

Rude employees

I'm due on Saturdays. The day they open on Saturday, they start calling.

Then one girl starts texting me, being all rude and such. I was three days late on a Tuesday, and they said if you don't pay today, then tomorrow on Wednesday, you have to pay for two weeks. I said I'm not due till Saturday. I'll pay today and then on Saturday.

She's like, 'That is not how it works.' I don't know why they're so worried about it. I'm a single mom. I try my best. I've only been late three days, never missed a payment, always paid the late fees.

What they're doing there is not customer service. They're rude and hateful. We all get in a bind sometimes. As long as I'm paying it, plus the late fee, why does it matter?

I rent at Aaron's. They're never rude like that to me. They call me and I say I'll be in in two days. They're like, 'Okay, thank you.' But when Buddy's call, they're like, 'We need your payment.

You have to be on time. You're two days late.

I am a customer with health issues and went into the hospital. Therefore, I couldn't answer the phone call from them on Monday.

My items were due that Saturday. I got out of the hospital that Thursday around 10am, called them, and paid off one of my items and made a payment on the other around 11am. By the time I made it home around 4:45, I had a door tag saying that we missed you and the date and time that they came. Which was a few minutes before I got home.

There was another piece of paper taped to my door saying that I stole their property and that I was going to be prosecuted.

Take into account, I was only 5 days late and had already paid my bill when they came out to my house. I am so angry.

The manager at the Bellmead store in Waco, Texas, Steven, is not professional whatsoever. This man called me about two and a half months ago -- maybe not that long -- and started telling me that I was late on my payment. I told him when I would be able to pay because my payday had changed. He then proceeded to claim that I had only had my furniture since December of 2023, which is incorrect. He told me that I hadn't made an on-time payment since I got the furniture, which was also incorrect. I informed him that I received my furniture in February of 2023; he then proceeded to accuse me of lying and suggested I was only saying these things because I didn't want to pay. However, he apologized after another worker there was able to pull up my original contract and show him that what I had been telling him was the truth.

About four weeks ago, he started repeating the same narrative about my due payment, accusing me of lying about when I was going to pay and shifting my problems onto him. He told me that he hopes I get the mental help I need because he overheard my conversation with my therapist. The assumptions escalated when he expressed his fear about how my kids might turn out, and he said many unpleasant things. He told me that I would never step foot back in their store and that he eagerly awaited the completion of my payments, assuring me he would never lend me anything else. This man, who knew nothing about me and had never met me face-to-face, seemed to have misunderstood the situation with my account. None of the things he said about my account were true. I have also heard that I am not the first customer who has had this experience with him.

It's a real shame that establishments like this one do not employ professional individuals. It is absolutely horrific to have to deal with someone like that just to rent a few pieces of furniture. It should be a simple process, not so serious that a manager feels the need to abandon professionalism and resort to hostile and derogatory communication. His demeanour made me feel like I would never want to return to that store while he's present. The experience of dealing with him was regrettable, and I hope not to encounter him again.

You agreed to pay on a certain date, you don't just change the terms because your payday has changed. Law is on his side.

Well if someone doesn't have it on those days anymore, what would you think one should do. That makes no sense.

I have dealt with other companies other than buddy's and it was no problem changing my pay day even the electric company assist or banks.... Regardless there is a way to handle things as a manager assisting the public and there's no reason for someone to be rude so I'm almost positive that this is him that responded or someone just like him.

I've had so many issues with the GM of the Elizabethtown, KY store since I became a customer. I was a good customer who made my payments on time.

I had a payday change and she wouldn’t work with me! She would text and threaten to take my stuff after being just one day late. I couldn't take it anymore, so I went to the store and paid off my contracts. She was rude the entire time I was there.

When I left, instead of thanking me for paying off my items, she said, 'Thank God you won't be here anymore!' She is very unprofessional. I wish I had read the reviews before bringing my business there!

Not many people have had a positive experience with Krystal (the GM), and as long as she's working there, I won't bring my business back. I've shared my experience with many people who were considering doing business there, and they chose not to go after hearing about my experience.

I honestly like the company never really had any issues until yesterday. I got home from being in the hospital for 5 days and seem a theft notice on my door .

The note was left around 4:30 pm. I missed my Saturday payment due to me being in the hospital. So I made my payment around 11 am Friday morning.

Why did they come to my house and leave a theft notice on my door when my account was paid. That is so unacceptable.

Waste of time and bad management

The furniture sales manager at the store I purchased from lied to my face just to make a sale. The store manager behaves as though he's supportive of the sales manager - it's a complete circus.

He is a very flirtatious guy. The corporate team is equally unnerving; they just sit behind their desks and don't do anything. The sales manager yells and curses at customers.

Even the store manager refuses sales to customers because of some internal affairs. This all happened at the Buddy's store in Temple, TX.

I answered the phone from a Rosana from the Newnan Ga store from a cellphone. She told me that she was calling from Buddy's and that she has been trying to get in touch with me .

I told her that I am out of town with a family emergency. She looked over that and said can I run the card 4*** I told her that it wasn't any money on it as I sat and talked with her on the phone she ran my card FOUR times. Without telling me she did that she asked for another card number and I told her I didn't have one. I told her that I can pay the bill next Thursday she begin to yell and threaten me saying that I needed to get her $40 in there today or she will be at my home with the sheriff.

I told her that Im at the end of my lease and she won't be able to get in because as I stated before that we were out of town on a family emergency then she hung up.

I gave her a few minutes then called the number back and asked was it a personal number or a business number. She said why? I asked the question again and she said it was both a personal number and a business number. I asked her what was the business name before I started talking and she refused.

She then begin typing my number an screaming my name asking me what do you want. I asked her what was her name and she said she didn't have to give me her name. I asked her again what's her name and she said Rosana and I said Ms. Rosana what is your last name?

she said that she didn't have to give me her last name. I then asked to spaek to her boss, she told me that she doesn't have a boss that she is the GM (general manager) so I asked for corporate's number she then told me that the Newnan store is a Franchise that they didn't have anything to with corporate. I then asked for the Franchisee's information or the owner's name Rosana then informed me that she was the owner of the Newnan store. Then she said if I wanted to complain about anything I need to look up the number on the website.

I asked her for the number a couple of more time then she gave it to me.

I am not mentally in the mood for aggressive collecting or an owner with a bad attitude especially one that you give them the benefit of the doubt gave her time to calm down before you called back and she is still very angry. This does not look good as a representative of the Brand Buddy's Furniture and I will speak about this on my social media outlets to let the public know about the poor customer service the Newnan Buddy's owner give. I just want to get through this contract and I will never do business with Buddy's Furniture again and I will never reccommend Newnan Buddy's to anyone ever.

I work with the public and I know that any owner or person in management should have anger contol. Running my card 4 times in a three minutes timespan is ridiculous when I told you that it wasn't any funds on the card.

Horrible Customer service

I went it of town for my grandmas funera and received text from the manager at buddys regarding my payment. I texted back and informed I was out of town and will make payment when I got back on Tuesday.

Tuesday comes I call to make a payment and I have been charged a 55 dollar late fee stating no one was able to get in touch with me. I informed the manager I didnt have the late fee but did have the past due and he threatens to come get my furniture.
